Flemish painting and the De Jonckheere gallery : history

De Jonckheere Gallery: founded in 1976

De Jonckheere Gallery was founded in 1976 and specialises in the study and sale of 15th, 16th and 17th century Flemish paintings. It has made a name for itself as a reference among art galleries by selecting the finest works on the market.

De Jonckheere opens its doors in Paris

In 1983, this specialist in Flemish painting opened its doors in Paris to welcome collectors and art-lovers from all over the world to its gallery at 100 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, a few steps away from the Elysée Palace.

Since then, its rigorous studies, the quality of its catalogues and its reliable choices have confirmed the reputation of De Jonckheere’s Parisian gallery.

Italian vedute and Belgian painters

After Flemish painting, De Jonckheere expanded its activity to 18th century masters of Italian vedute and 19th and 20th century Belgian painters.

Fine art and antiques fairs

Appreciated by the most demanding collectors and museums worldwide, our paintings are regularly presented at fine art and antiques fairs such as the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris, TEFAF in Maastricht, The International Fine Art Fair in New York, and the Collezione d’Arte Antica at the Permanente in Milan.

Your paintings sold by De Jonckheere

1. Appraisal of Flemish painting

All proposed paintings undergo a thorough appraisal. This allows us to precisely situate the painting in relation to the entire body of the artist's work. Quality, state of conservation and historical value are the chosen criteria of analysis. Furthermore, we take care to gather a maximum of information and knowledge on the painting. Finally, whenever necessary, we ask an independent expert to help us with the appraisal.

2. Sale by mutual agreement

Following the appraisal, you will be offered the best purchase price. If you agree, the payment will be settled immediately.

3. Brokering

We can act as an intermediary for collectors who wish to entrust us with the sale of their works. Our overall commission is 15 % of the sale price.
