TEFAF MAASTRICHT 2018

Our traditional rendez-vous at Maastricht is approaching fast. Held in the Netherlands, this magnificent fair has had a makeover this year, and to mark the occasion, we have gathered together a collection of our favourite rare and emblematic paintings. Come and celebrate with two beautiful scenes by Pieter Brueghel the Younger, Return from the village fair and Village street with peasants dancing. For lovers of landscapes, discover the hawk concealed in the rocky outcrop in the Conversion of Saint Peter by Herri Met de Bles and the lush nature adorning an exceptional copper by Abraham Govaerts, representing Vertumnus and Pomona. Small monsters and a fantastical bestiary surround Saint Anthony in a scene of the Temptation by Jan Brueghel the Younger, while David Teniers invites us into a kitchen invaded by little monkeys busy preparing a meal. As for the gourmets among you, come and feast your eyes on the extraordinary biscuits in the exquisite still life by David Rijckaert. Watched over by the peaceful and sovereign gaze of a Knight of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Tefaf Maastricht 2018 is certainly full of promise.
