Face au temps. Regards croisés sur les collections Philippe Austruy et De Jonckheere was set up to highlight the masterpieces of two entirely distinctive collections. The exhibition brings together the contemporary artworks of the Philippe Austry Collection with an exceptional set of twenty paintings from the Flemish Schools (15th – 17th Century). It is the result of a friendship and the same passion the two men share for Art and also a sensitive and inquisitive look at different ways of conceiving art. The journey proposes crossed looks on artworks placed in the space of the Commanderie, aiming to reveal parallels, enlighten contrasts and catch by resemblances. These are the issues and the challenges of this unexpected display based on twenty diachronic associations.
